The martial arts of the ancient times will keep their spirit untill today. On the picture above you will see the words of a very old wall-paper of the 16th century in Japan, written by the founder of an old ju-jutsu ryu, Asayama ichidensai.

This paper was called Asayama Ichidensai Kabegaki and had given some impulse for the students of this school. Nowadays it is very difficult to translate some old japanese words into the right sense.

So we will give you the pronounciation in japanese speaking and the sense about:

1. Gasatsu wa okubyo no hana           -  Churlishness is the flower of timidness

2. Tanki wa miren no so                        -  Hot temper is the aspect of regrets

3. Kannin wa chuco no shitaji              -  Patience is the base of loyalty

4. Kokorogake wa tegara no moto     -  Intention is the base of bravery

5. Kokorozukai wa funbetsu no iroha - Consideration is the beginning of       prudence

6. Bugei wa sonomino tsutsushimi     - Martial arts is the own to modesty
